This package includes the VL Gothic (monospace) and VL PGothic (proportional) fonts. Originally developed for the Vine Linux project, they include glyphs suitable for rendering Japanese text, as well as Latin and Greek alphabets.
The fonts are based on the M+ fonts and the Sazanami fonts.
